Tune Belt Sport Armband for 3G iPod nano and connected Nike + iPod Sport Kit receiver

Reviews of Tune Belt Sport Armband for 3G iPod nano and connected Nike + iPod Sport Kit receiver

1.) Just What I Was Looking For
Reviewed by: J. Stahly
Rating:
I originally picked up this armband because it was one of the few that was made to be used with the Nike+ Sport Kit. It does exactly what it's supposed to do: It protects the nano while staying on my arm comfortably and securely during workouts. Even without the Sport Kit connected to the nano, it works well and secures the device. I use the armband for jogs (5-12 miles), at the gym, shooting around, along with several other activities. It stayed securely to my arm while remaining out of the way. It seems to offer just the same, if not better, protection than the armbands costing 10 bucks more and it includes an extra flap to keep the headphone cord out of the way. Great product.

2.) Works just as you'd expect, comfortable on arm.
Reviewed by: S. Kallshian Seattle, WA USA
Rating:
There aren't that many 3G Nano armbands out there that make room for the Nike+ iPod receiver, but this one looked the most appealing to me. It's been working great and the neoprene material is very comfortable while jogging. I like that it protects the screen and you can control the iPod through the plastic without any problem at all. Recommended for gym rats and casual walkers alike.

3.) Perfect for the job
Reviewed by: I. N. Santa Monica, CA

All of the reviews seem to be on target. Yes, you do sweat a little on you ipod, if you don't like that, don't run with it. The strap is a bit flimsy, but I don't have 24" biceps, so it doesn't bother me. Yes, the touchscreen doesn't work as well through the plastic, but it works. Nothing is perfect, but this gets the job done for me, I would buy it again for sure. Also, it has holes in the corners conveniently for plugging in headphones and turning the hold on and off. I like this product a lot.

4.) Handy Armband

I bought this as a gift for my husband and he likes it a lot. It's very comfortable for running. He's able to concentrate on running and less on working or stablizing his armband like he had to with his last armband. It's nice that it has the iPOD sport receiver space too. It all fits very snug. I would recommend this product to anyone.

5.) Just plain nifty
Reviewed by: Nightfall UT, USA
Rating:
As anyone who has struggled with the problem of where to stash their I-pod while they are listening to it knows, contraptions like this are essential for playing and forgetting. Before I got this thing, my I-pod was constantly falling out of my shirt pocket. I'd stick in my pants pocket, and then the earphones would get pulled out of my ears because there was too much strain on the cords. So I bought this thing. Great little device, stays on my arm just fine. The only thing I would point out is that the band isn't quite as big as they make it sound. It supposed to fit arms up to 17". I have scrawny girly arms, and it's tight on me. So if you're a body builder with enormous arms, you're probably going to find this a bit too small for you.

6.) great value. well made

7.) tune belt

I searched for a while to find a belt for my nano that would fit the nike adaptor. the tune belt was the one I finally settled on b/c the connection point was not exposed. I've ran with it for many miles now and the quality of the velcro as well as the durability of the material is very good. It's also very light weight. I am very pleased with the product!!

10.) Great iPod nano armband or carrier
Reviewed by: David Pattelena Hollis, NH USA

Bought this for use as an armband, but find myself using it as general carrier. Also, I've found can use it to hold the iPod in my hand while running. Simple design and works great. I've tried other armbands that have fancy extension pieces that were awkward, whereas this one is all one piece. Highly recommended.

11.) Works perfectly! Ligth weight, comfortable, and easy to use.

Great product! I would recommend it for anyone who works out.Even if you don't run, lifting weights with this arm band is very comfortable. I really like it.

12.) Tune Belt open view armband
Reviewed by: Keith Emerson
Rating:
I really like this arm band. It is comfortable to wear, but most important to me is the way it captures the cord for my head set and holds it out of my way when I'm running. I think any one who runs with head phones or uses head phones when really active would enjoy this feature.

13.) great for running
Reviewed by: runner girl orlando, FL

After going through several other armbands, this is the best one if you run with the Nike + attachment. I also really like that there is a place to wrap your extra wire around.

14.) Sport arm band for IPOD
Reviewed by: road cycle addict Danville, CA United States
Rating:
I had another type of arm band previously, but the problem with it was the velcro closure simply fell apart over time. Plus, since I use my IPOD Nano in the gym, it was getting too much moisture on it, causing failure of the stereo headphones. With this new armband, the IPOD is completely covered with just a small hole in the base where the output is. So, it's no longer prone to moisture. Plus, the armband can be as snug as I want, and the fabric is really cushy; very comfortable to wear all the time. I've only had it for about 3 months, but so far, it's exceeded my expectations.

15.) Works for me :)
Reviewed by: CHarris Georgia

I had a hard time deciding one which product to buy for my ipod 3G with nike + reciever. I just took the plunge and ordered this one. Today was my first run with it and I was very pleased. The ipod with nike+ reciever fit nicely and the arm band was comfortable. The holes for the headphones and lock were actually easier to access than my basic belkin armband. The only negative thing I would report is that the plastic cover is a little loose and doesn't fit as snuggly to the ipod, but for my purposes that is not necessarily going to hinder me during my run. I don't change my playlists while running anyway, so...The center button was just as easy to hit. I do like the velcro area to keep the headphone cord out of the way and the fact that I could turn the ipod upside down on my arm. Those were nice little perks. Anyhow, that's my review for what it is worth :) Enjoy! Happy running!

16.) good item

Item is as advertised, it fits snugly on small woman's upper arm and/or wrist. Would be big enough for man's upper arm as well. Had to cut a hole in the plastic to work the Ipod Nano wheel. Once done, the plastic is not sharp edged.

17.) My wife likes it
Reviewed by: A. KING Silicon Valley, CA

My wife has used this for a year and a half or so and enjoys it. We do notice that if she is really sweating a lot moisture collects inside and we need to take the iPod out when we get home to allow everything to breahe and dry out.

19.) Not Bad
Reviewed by: E-Rock

I am new to the I-pod revolution, as the new 8g gen. 3 nano is my first I-pod. However, I've had other Mp3 players in the past. I do like the little thing and this armband makes it easy to carry on runs, walks & workouts. The headphone cord holder works pretty well...it can just be a little tricky to get it to the length you want...the plastic screen makes it a little more difficult to operate the click wheel, but it's manageable...sweat does wet the case and causes condensation to form inside the window...I usually take the I-pod out of the case after a run to avoid prolonged exposure...it stretches to accommodate the Nike Plus adapter just fine...I absolutely love this feature...makes running more fun and don't we need all the motivation we can get!

20.) Works Great
Reviewed by: Charlie
Rating:
This armband works much better than the one that came with my ipod. No vinyl on the inside with thick seams or corners to poke or scratch. It is also easy to take in and out of the case for regular use, and the flap on the side to control the extra earphone cord is great.

21.) Does the job but not perfect
Reviewed by: Tom

This case holds the iPod firmly on place as long as you have the Nike+iPod reciever in place. The plastic cover over the iPod controls makes it extremely difficult to navigate menus while on the move. The headphone cable Velcro holder works well to keep extra cable out of the way.

This product has been serving me well. The fit for a nano w/sport receiver is perfect. The arm strap just barely works for me, I am a 6 ft 205 lb male. If my arms were any larger (biceps), this would not work.

24.) Pretty Comfey...
Reviewed by: Christopher Gregg
Rating:
To be honest, this is the fastest any produce has ever been shipped to me, with standard it was here two days after ordering. Out of the package the product looks very unimpressive but, is surprisingly comfortable to use with a very soft and stretchy material. The only thing I was disappointed with is how tight I have to put it on my arm. With the tightness I have to find the balance between keeping it on and blocking the flow of blood to the rest of my arm. I'm very pleased all over and can't wait to take this thing to the gym.

25.) Overall nice product, one significant flaw
Reviewed by: Joe Krill Philadelphia, PA
Rating:
Overall I like this armband. I can see how some people might have a problem with the size. It fits fine for me -- I'm relatively average sized -- but I could see how it might be a bit small for someone with pretty large arms. The only other major flaw with the product is that the touch wheel doesn't respond very well behind the plastic protective window. It's very difficult to change the volume especially. I would probably go with another brand if I were buying again, specifically because of this (I've used other armbands where this wasn't an issue).

26.) It's mediocre...
Reviewed by: Johnny Chimpo
Rating:
Ok, so the quality of the arm band isn't great, but it is well put together. The velcro cord holder is a good feature, but the velcro is already peeling off on mine and I've only had it for three weeks. I'm in Iraq, so I think the heat is causing the adhesive to peel off. Another downfall is that the armband is not big enough. I have it all the way extended, and my arms are only 16" around. The armband won't be of any use to me in a few months if my arms continue to grow. Great for women or little kids, but for a man, I think I'm going to have to find another alternative. Now for the reason I really bought it, the Nike + iPod. It is one of the only good looking arm bands that allow extra space inside the band to utilize the Nike+ system, but if you're not using the Nike+, the iPod is hard to manipulate. It's frustrating trying to adjust the volume or scroll to another song when the protective plastic cover is so thick. Worth the $18, but they need to redesign it for bigger arms, and make it more versatile when not using the Nike+. I give it a 4 for quality, a 3 for functionality, and a 3 for pricing.

27.) Not bad
Reviewed by: Ian Hart San Francisco, CA USA
Rating:
It fits well and I like the little velcro cord controller. I've run with it twice now, and taken it to the gym on a couple other occassions. I find it comfortable and it does what it advertises. However, I do have two concerns with it. First, the area where the iPod goes doesn't breathe at all, so it's all moist in there which may not be bad for the iPod, but it can't be good. Second, it's really tricky to control the iPod when it's in the holder -- some armbands are designed to give you reasonably good access to the controls, but this isn't one of them. Anything more sophisticated than hitting the center button or forward song is tricky.

28.) Good enough
Reviewed by: Chris218 Washington, DC
Rating:
Guys, if you have big biceps, this is not the armband for you unless you want to wear it on your forearm. I don't have particularly big arms and it barely fits. In a field of grossly unimpressive options, this is probably one of the better ones, but using the touch-wheel to scroll is pretty difficult. Also, sweat goes right through the neoprene. I understand the material is chosen for comfort, but it's hard to believe that the manufacturers can't come up with something better. Still, for the money, it's a good bet.

29.) Good other then the plastic...
Reviewed by: C. Pattison SLC, UT

This is a great product for woman men will have a difficult time getting it to fit around there arm because it's not very big. I like it over all but the BIGGEST COMPLAINT I have is that it's VERY hard to work with the touch screen and it drives me crazy and is so frustrating.

30.) Needs to be more supple.
Reviewed by: Jerome Columbus, GA
Rating:
Good fit for my 3G but after much use while running, I noticed that the carrier started to rub the edges off my iPod. I tried using a hard case around the iPod but the double cover over the controls made manipulation very difficult.

31.) Not quite long enough
Reviewed by: J. Person San Diego, CA USA
Rating:
I needed a new holder for my iPod nano 3G after using the Apple brand one for a couple of years. I gave this one a try mainly because of the low price. It's slightly more difficult to get the iPod in and to access it with the headphone cable as there's just a narrow slot for insertion and a couple of small holes for access to headphones and the hold button. I've only used it once and it started to get moist under the plastic screen, so it remains to be seen how well it will protect from moisture while I'm running.

My main problem is that the arm strap is too short. I'm 6'2" with 14" biceps. I measured the overall length of the strap and it's only 15". It holds via a Velcro-style flap that you have to loop over, so I have just under an inch of hold if I cinch it tight. The Apple strap is 17" long.

I haven't found the ideal solution yet for jogging with my iPod, but I'll keep trying to use this one if I can.

32.) The good, bad and the ugly on this iphone armband
Reviewed by: JM Tuber Arizona, USA
Rating:
The Good:
* The armband feels comfortable, and it's relatively adjustable
* The iphone slips nicely into the holder
* When it's turned towards me, I can clearly see the phone's screen
* Decent durability

The Bad:
* The band will periodically shimmy down my arm as I am doing cardio, I have to push it back up every few minutes (not a big deal)
* I am not sure you can wash this

The Ugly:
* The plastic covering over the iphone screen often makes pushing the buttons and controlling the iphone inconsistent and difficult. I am not sure what they could have done in place of this (maybe used a thinner plastic), in any case it's annoying to have to push a button 5+ times just to get the iphone to respond because of the heavy plastic in front of it.

The Bottom Line:
Overall it's not a bad item, I use it frequently and it's stayed pretty durable. Other than the buttons sometimes being difficult to operate, it's not a bad buy.

34.) retains moisture

I am disappointed by the fact that it holds any moisture (sweat or any dampness) right onto your ipod.

35.) Very frustrating to use while working out!
Reviewed by: HBeauchene Seattle, WA
Rating:
This is one of the only armbands I can find for this model of ipod and it's a bit of a disappointment. The space for the ipod is too large so the ipod slips around a lot while in use. If you're a heavy sweater/hardcore workout junkie, the compartment collects a lot of condensation from the sweat which then makes it difficult or impossible to use the click wheel. Given that it's the only product I could find, I suppose it serves it's purpose, but the design could certainly be improved to make it more waterproof with a snugger fit for the ipod. The velcro is awesome and it's comfortable to wear otherwise.

36.) Armband was made for women

Its very tight on my arms and its way too small for average men's arm. It does not fit the 4th Gen Nano or any of the Ipod.

I would not recommend this product to men who has 12 inch arms or bigger. If fact its total waste of $20.00.

37.) Too small and too sweaty
Reviewed by: Michael Del Muro Los Angeles, CA USA
Rating:
The only reason I purchased this was that I couldn't find the Nike+ armband anywhere. I just ran a quick 4-mile run with the Tune Belt and it isn't a very good product. First, the strap barely fit around my arm and when I tightened it, I worried that it would cut off circulation. (My arm was very relieved when I took it off.) Second, the armband got way too sweaty. I need it for my longer 10-20 mile runs and I can't imagine this staying on my arm with all the sweat that will build up. Marware makes a better product, and so does Nike. I recommend going with one of those.

38.) Hard Time working the clickwheel...
Reviewed by: J. Varley Maryland
Rating:
The vinyl window tends to arc away from my ipod, which makes it very difficult to control the clickwheel. On my last run, I tried to get my powersong on and actually stopped my workout by accident. Luckily, I was able to resume the workout, but I actually had to stop running to fiddle with my ipod. Unfortunately, I have had some sort of issue on EVERY run. I am currently looking for a different brand of armband, as I am not very happy with this one. My recommendation: BUY SOMETHING ELSE.
